Advice from Move Managers, Professional Organizers & Personal Assistants

In this uncertain environment, it’s imperative to take extra precautions before allowing anyone inside your home. This includes vendors such as electricians, plumbers, handymen, HVAC techs, appliance repairmen, interior designers, moving crews, professional organizers, and personal assistants. Here are some questions to ask before hiring anyone:

● What system do you have in place to identify sick employees or employees with sick family members?
● Have any of your employees traveled to risky areas?
● What hygiene procedures are required of your employees?
● What precautions does your team put in place to perform their duties safely?
● Do you have procedures in place specially designed to protect seniors?

If you need the assistance of a Move Manager, Professional Organizer, or Personal Assistant, be assured that Potomac Concierge is committed to operating under CDC-recommended strict guidelines.

Potomac Concierge’s COVID-19 Precautions

We Closely Monitor the Health of Our Associates – Employees who are not 100% healthy are required to stay home.

We Question the Health of Our Associates’ Family Members – Employees must disclose any illness of family members. If anyone in the same household is sick, the employee must stay at home.

We Require High Standards of Hygiene – Potomac Concierge associates all respect respiratory etiquette by properly wearing face masks at all times. Our associates frequently wash their hands either with soap and water for 20 seconds or with an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains 60%-95% alcohol. Employees are encouraged to avoid touching their eyes, nose, and mouth.

We Ensure Clean Working Environments – All workplaces are supplied with alcohol-based disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer. No personal items (purses, bags, phones) are brought into the job site.

Our Associates Maintain Safe Distances – A six foot distance is maintained between team members, associates, and anyone in the client’s family. Only one associate works in a room at one time. Contracts and estimates are emailed to clients and Docusign is used to sign contracts. Virtual options such as Facetime and Zoom are used when possible.

We Use Extra Caution with Seniors – Before moving any client into a senior living community, Potomac Concierge determines if there are ANY COVID-19 cases. We always try to devise a plan under which the elderly client is not present during the move.  Potomac Concierge arranges to have the unit fully sanitized before moving in.

We Understand That One Size Does Not Fit All – Potomac Concierge assesses each job request individually and devises a plan to fit each client’s needs. We will be prepared to change our business practices if needed to maintain safety.

We Use Common Sense – All of our associates are cognizant of the need to exercise caution every step of the way. For example, to minimize the possibility of dispersing viruses through the air, we never shake any laundry we encounter.
